I saw something today which reminded me once again why The Wire is the single best thing ever put on TV. We've had some awesome stuff all round, but never anything so unrelentingly real, honest, unbiased, cynical and completely gripping.

When you see words like 'the single best thing ever put on TV', it looks like an exaggeration. Trust me, it isn't. It really is that bloody good.

I could go on for hours here, but really there's not much point saying any more. If you have any interest at all in a truly and uncompromisingly well told story, but series one through five of The Wire and watch all of them as soon as humanly possible. It's your responsibility as a human being.
